Biography
Patrick Wong, M.D., D.D.S., is the Division Director of Pediatric Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Children's Health℠ and an Assistant Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UT Southwestern. He has a special interest in orthognathic surgery (corrective jaw surgery) and facial trauma surgery.
“I am passionate about providing pediatric-focused care for those with oral or facial surgery needs,” he says. “I love to see how orthognathic surgery and facial trauma surgery can restore confidence to my patients.”
Dr. Wong earned his dental degree from Texas A&M University-Baylor College of Dentistry and his medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He then completed residencies in clinical surgery and oral and maxillofacial surgery at Baylor University, followed by a fellowship in craniofacial surgery at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center.
Dr. Wong is the only pediatric fellowship-trained oral and maxillofacial surgeon in North Texas who works full-time at a major teaching institution. He has appeared on numerous surgery podcasts and has given several lectures across the country on treatment planning for orthognathic surgery. He is actively involved in research working to improve diagnostics, care and outcome for children who need oral or facial surgery.
Outside of work, Dr. Wong enjoys playing golf, tennis, pickleball and running.
