Large retrospective studies by pediatric neurosurgeons at Children’s Health show that more invasive techniques for Chiari malformations type 1 are both safe and more effective for certain patients.
New therapy uses SEEG monitoring and neuromodulation to reduce seizures
Innovative neurological monitoring at Children’s Health looks at which areas of the thalamus are involved in a child’s seizure network. The new approach combines SEEG with response neurostimulation to reduce seizures in kids with intractable epilepsy. The findings are paving the way for more effective treatment options.
